Fees & Donations

Dhanakosa operates on the basis of generosity, seeking not to exclude anyone on account of individual financial circumstances. However, all of our income comes from donations made by friends and visitors such as yourselves, so we ask you to make a donation towards the running of the retreat centre.

To book your retreat we require a booking fee of £75 (week) or £30 (weekend). Anything you give above this is a donation.

Our suggested donations for 2013 are as follows (in addition to the booking fee):

  • Suggested donation for a weekend: £150 waged, £100 unwaged
  • Suggested donation for a week (introductory retreats): £365 waged, £220 unwaged
  • Suggested donation for a week (regulars retreats): £315 waged, £180 unwaged

If you cannot afford to give these rates then please feel free to give what you can. Likewise, if you feel able to give more, then please consider doing so. There will be someone available to receive your donation during the retreat or, if you prefer, you can send a donation in advance.

If you wish to speak to a member of the team about financial contributions please don’t hesitate to phone or ask when you arrive. Donations can be made by credit/debit card, cheque or cash.

You may also wish to support Dhanakosa ongoingly through a regular donation by standing order.

Gift Aid

Dhanakosa is a registered charity. As such, if you pay income tax we can claim GIFT AID on your donation. This is a tax rebate we claim from the inland revenue which means, in effect, that the Inland Revenue increases the value of your donation by 28% by giving some of the tax that you have already paid to us. To do this we need you to fill in a short declaration which we hold on file. This is generally done when making your donation at Dhanakosa.

Please note that GIFT AID can only be claimed on donations. As the booking fee is not a donation, Gift Aid cannot be claimed on this money.

Booking

Please enclose a non-refundable booking fee of £75 (week) or £30 (weekend) with your booking. Cheques should be made payable to Dhanakosa. Booking fees can also be taken by credit or debit card over the phone.

If you cancel a retreat booking it will be possible to transfer the booking fee to another retreat provided you give us at least 1 month’s notice. Our address is shown at the bottom of the page.
