The world we live in is, for most of us, a busy and stressful world. A retreat is an opportunity to withdraw from that world. By spending time in the beautiful environment of Dhanakosa, with its loch-side situation in the southern highlands of Scotland, we can refresh ourselves.
But a retreat is more than a holiday, it is also an opportunity to address some of the deeper issues in our life, to look at ourselves afresh and possibly gain a new perspective on what our life is about. Meditation, discussion, talks and periods of silence provide the context for this process. On retreats we have the opportunity to experience communal living at its best, sharing time, ideas and inspiration with like-minded people. You don't have to be a Buddhist to come on our introductory retreats or indeed have any intention of becoming one. |
