Tejini

Tejini lives in rural Perthshire and enjoys a love of gardening painting and meditation. She is a graduate of Edinburgh college of art and has over 25 years of art teaching experience behind her. Her work expresses her love of colour and nature. Tejini first started leading painting and meditation retreats in 1995 and was ordained in 2010.

The focus of this retreat will be the quiet contemplation of the landscape through meditation and painting.  This will be supported by experienced teachers in both disciplines who will lead us in an exploration of basic Buddhist meditation practices and guide us through the production of a series of small drawings and paintings based on landscape. 

These retreats are open to all.  They are suitable for both beginners and those with more experience but no previous experience is assumed.  All these retreats include introductory meditation teaching and periods of silence.

The combination of drawing and painting the beautiful landscape at Dhanakosa along with the practice of meditation allows one to cultivate an open awareness of oneself and a deeper connection with the land. This will be a week of reflection and creativity with expert tutors, Tejini and Dhiraka. The week will cover full guidance in meditation and will include periods of silence. The art will be led by Tejini and drawing will predominate.

The Art of Seeing and Drawing

On this retreat we will bring awareness to our experience through photography and painting.  Combining this with meditation in a supportive environment we will learn the 'Art of Being and Seeing'. There will be less technical teaching than on the April photography retreat and no previous experience of photography or painting is necessary.
